    year of the tigeeeeeeeer

This week marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year. This will be a very special Year of the Tiger. The year of the tiger comes in-between the Year of the Bull and the Year of the dragon. This is very symbolic, I believe. The Bull is a fitting symbol for the West these days, virile and aggressive but lacking in wisdom and patience. The dragon is very old and wise but is perhaps too cautious and passive and can be seen as a symbol of the East. If you mix the best elements of the bull and the dragon, the result is a tiger.

    count ’em gay

WASHINGTON, July 31 — The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force was on hand for today’s official announcement by the U.S. Commerce Department that the U.S. Census Bureau would report married same-sex couples in the 2010 census. The Task Force played a key role in getting the U.S. Census Bureau to report the number of married same-sex couples, which has never been done before and reverses an earlier decision made under the Bush administration. The Task Force pressed for a reversal of the discriminatory policy in meetings that started in late 2008 with the Obama transition team, continuing later with officials from the White House, Census Bureau and Commerce Department. While the policy reversal decision was made public in late June, today marked the official announcement of that change.

    future?

this is from the most recent rolling stone about the guy who got 2nd in American Idol:

“Sometimes, in the desert, you can figure things out. That’s what Adam Lambert discovered a couple of years ago at Burning Man, the annual utopian festival in Nevada…. [where he] experimented with certain funguses….. and ‘had a psychedelic experience where I looked up into the clouds and went, “oh, we all have our own power, and whatever i wanted to do, i had to make happen.” he wanted to make american idol……”

he also is gay, crazy, almost profound and has the eye of horus (see nassim) tattooed on his wrist. i can’t believe that i just posted about idol, but maybe this dude is gonna lead the teenie boppers into the glorious future we are destined to share….:
