Simon Posford – Celtic Cross – Hicksville

Hicksville has a darker, more solitude-friendly nighttime vibe than many of the more intense, dance-friendly psytrance albums; the melodies meander more than the majority of Posford’s other works. Though psytrance lovers may initially crave the more consistently beat-heavy sounds of Hallucinogen, if you let the album grow on you, you just may end up loving the album as much as I do.

Perfect for late-night relaxing, journeying, or even studying, Hicksville is a musical tapestry that incorporates numerous different influences and sounds; in other words, it is ambient psychedelic electronica at its best.
