scared/excited: kurzweil and the singularity
random thoughts:
we seemed to have passed the threshold of unlimited growth without entirely destructing our planet. is this world that kurzweil (above vid) speaks of possible without the drastic shift in consciousness that is needed to move in a way that we are responsible?
does technology push consciousness or does consciousness push tech? if it is a two way street than we must begin to raise our awareness to fully utilize our tech prowess in a positive way…. we have be off track for sometime –see atombomb– so why should we trust where this rabbit hole will take us?
i am starting to think that we need be exploring ways to exist and expand without high tech help…. by waiting until supercomputers fix our problems we could be vanquishing our chance to understand our position in the world rather than always chasing what we wish we were.

I’ve been thinking alot about that too lately, while expanding technoloagy outward is helpful and convienient at the moment, we have all the technoloagy we need inside, and its a matter of getting enough people to tap in… matter transportation? telepathy? no problem. i would love this process to speed up already cause this matter of language is really getting in my way right now….

1. I know, Dozemay got a haircut–this is dedicated to his former “untamedyawp” countenance
2. Soul, folk, gospel, rock, psychedelic, pop, but mostly just a lot of fucking hipsters EVERYWHERE
3. Only show I’ve seen where I felt clapping was appropriate and where it actually enhanced parts of the performance (except maybe The Flaming Lips or Raffi)*

6. Cheers to the smiling, shirtless spunion who stumbled onto the stage during the encore, tripping face

although i am sure the bird loves the challenge of making the chainsaw noise, its kinda sad that is what it has come too…. if nature starts imitating humanity, we are surely screwed. i like it the other way ’round, nature has a much better track record when it comes to longevity, balance and beauty. we should take note attenborough~style.

chris and i briefly listened to the first installment of the teleconference series the other day. they were struggling to iron out some analog technology kinks but it seems that it’s going to be fulking awesome.
